My advice for parents would be to seek advice sooner rather than later. If you notice any type of delays or abnormalities in your child, look into getting help for them. My parents were told that I would probably never be able to play sports or ride a bike, however, my parents challenged that, and now I am continuing my dream to play basketball at a college level. My advice for young children with Apraxia would be to tell them they are not defined by their diagnosis or disability. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or ask for help! All successful people are able to ask for help. And it’s okay to have a bad day, it does not mean you are not brave or strong. Let the people you trust know how you feel, it will help you both.
